Frequently Asked Questions

Honest answers, before your first session.

Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially when you are not sure what to expect. Here are the questions I am asked most often, from getting started to fees and online sessions.

  • No. Many people I work with do not have a diagnosis, or are figuring out whether ADHD is part of the picture. We start with what is actually happening and go from there. I do not diagnose or assess as a marketing promise. If a formal evaluation would help, I will say so and point you to the right person.

  • I work with girls and women ages 14–35. That includes teen girls, college women, and young adult women.

  • My practice is for teen girls and women only. I do not work with teenage boys or adult men. If you are not sure whether this is a fit, the free consultation is a good place to ask.

  • The consultation is 15 minutes by phone. You tell me what is going on, I tell you how I would approach it, and we both decide if it is a fit. There is no pressure either way.

  • The current fee is $205 for a 55–60 minute session. I am private pay and out-of-network.

  • I am out-of-network. I provide superbills with the codes your insurer needs. You can submit them for possible reimbursement. Many PPO plans reimburse a portion, depending on your plan. I am happy to walk you through checking your benefits.

  • Online therapy is the format I offer. We meet by secure video from a private place in California, and we use the session to talk, reflect, and work with what is happening in your life. The free consultation is a chance to ask questions and decide whether video feels workable for you.

  • Yes. I am licensed to see clients anywhere in California. You need to be physically in California during sessions. I am telehealth-only, so there is no office to drive to.

  • Start by bringing the question to the free consultation. We can talk about what she is worried about, what would make a first session feel more manageable, and whether the fit seems right. She does not need to arrive with the perfect words.

  • I am confirming the details of my minor-confidentiality and parent-involvement policy. Please ask me during the free consultation so I can give you the current answer.

  • You do not need to prepare a perfect update. We can start with what has felt heavy, confusing, or hard to explain. I will help us find a place to begin.

  • Many people work with me for at least 18 months. We take time to understand patterns, try things in real life, and adjust as your needs change.

A gentle place to begin
