ONLINE THERAPY FOR San Diego State University STUDENTS
A place to be honest about how school is actually going
At San Diego State, a semester schedule can make room for a full life while also allowing unfinished tasks to linger in the background. You may look socially connected and capable while privately panicking, procrastinating, or wondering why ordinary responsibilities feel so effortful.
Academic rhythm
When the calendar changes the shape of your week
Semester system.
A semester can make the first weeks feel manageable before papers, exams, work, and commitments begin to converge. For some students, a long stretch of time makes it harder to turn a plan into a first step.
A broader support map
SDSU Counseling and Psychological Services describes phone consultation, drop-in Talk It Out consultation, groups, and referral support for students. The current official page explains how to get started and how to contact C&PS.
Read the current campus information →What a semester can hide
SDSU publishes an academic calendar organized around fall and spring semesters. The wider spacing between major checkpoints can be helpful, but it can also make it easy to wait for urgency. Therapy can focus on the small, practical moments where avoidance, worry, and self-criticism take over.
Starting with a phone consultation
SDSU C&PS says students commonly begin with a phone consultation and also publishes information about Talk It Out, groups, and referrals. Jessie Lamb Therapy is separate from SDSU and can be considered as an outside online option when a student wants ongoing support beyond campus pathways.
Distance and independence
You do not have to explain the whole transition at once
If you moved away for SDSU, you may be building a new routine around roommates, work, family contact, and a campus that asks you to make many choices independently. Staying near home can bring its own questions about boundaries and expectations.
A seasonal note
The fall-to-spring handoff can be a natural time to notice which habits were held together by urgency. A new semester does not require a new personality; it may simply call for a more honest look at what your week can hold.
Jessie's approach
Warm, practical, andshaped around your actual life
Our work may include ADHD-informed support, ACT, CBT, IFS or parts work, attachment-based reflection, and somatic or nervous-system tools. We can stay curious about what is happening and keep the work practical enough to use between sessions.
